Careconnect insurance?
I don't see where it says they are closing because of "the gov't not paying."? I work (peripherally) in the industry and always wondered how this plan would survive. You can only go to Northwell facilities which, when the plan started were almost completely limited to Nassau County. Yes, they have expanded now, but if you live in Suffolk County, many of the doctors and hospitals are off limits. I'm not really surprised that they have to shut down operations.

Other insurers will also suffer, CC is not alone. Also, its not Rep vs Dems anymore the responsibility lies with BOTH and nothing is getting done.
Promises of additional funding was the key...
"It has become increasingly clear that continuing the CareConnect health plan is financially unsustainable, given the failure of the federal government and Congress to correct regulatory flaws that have destabilized insurance markets and their refusal to honor promises of additional funding,” said Michael J. Dowling, Northwell’s chief executive officer.

It's not solely due to that but yes, the head of CC said the government promised to make up for the losses suffered in the first few years and then when CC asked for payment the government refused.
Also agree that at this point, both the Rs and the Ds are both terrible scum buckets for engaging solely in a pissing contest rather than actually try to fix this healthcare nightmare. They should all suffer.
