Care package for a soon-to-be mom
My DH's cousin and her DH found out that their DD will be born with some major birth defects. She will be spending the next several weeks at the Ronald McDonald House near Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where little Ella will be born. Her shower is this weekend and I want to include a care package with her shower gift. It want items to keep her occupied before the baby comes. Any ideas on what to include? Thanks!

Re: Care package for a soon-to-be mom
I'm going to assume the baby's chance of survival is good...
Slippers/Flip Flops Robe Thank yous - for any gifts or flowers she receives
A baby book - She might have some "free" time while in the hospital
Some of her favorite snacks that are easy to carry - like gum or candy.
Gift cards to any restaurants in the area that she may go to for a quick bite to eat
ETA: Needle point or crocheting? Puzzle books

How sad.
Thank you note cards and pens
A basket with odds and ends-bath gel, loofah, q-tips, mouthwash, gum, etc
I also like the idea of GC for nearby restaurants

Re: Care package for a soon-to-be mom
Thanks for the prayers and ideas. She does crochet, so I thought I'd find an easy non-baby-item project for her. At this point, so much is up in the air... no really knows the long-term prognosis for baby Ella.
I think I'll also include some fun books and a gc for a local restaurant.
Thanks again... more ideas always welcomed...
