car seat question????
It can go in the left, middle or right side. The law is it must be rear facing. Depending on your car it may have to go In the side or middle. I wanted ours in the middle but we use our cars latch system so it's behind the passenger seat.

Yes. Where in the backseat depends on your car and I believe the carseat. The only law is that the baby must be rearfacing.

Re: car seat question????
I believe our car's manual told us where is best for the carseat (middle for us).

My understanding is that not all middle seats are wide enough for carseats.

Must be rear facing. Read your manual. All depends on your car.

Re: car seat question????
Middle is safest but depending on your car model, you may not be able to use the latch for middle (seatbelt installation is just as safe!!!). Second safest is behind passenger.

car seat question????
I read my manuel and it didn't say where to put it. I have to check out my car and have my husband see where it can latch.

Re: car seat question????
None of the answers given have been completely correct. First there is no law with regard to rear facing or forward facing. The law strictly States an appropriate federally approved car seat must be used until a child reaches 8 years old.
Secondly, not all cars can accommodate seats in the middle. There are compatability issues. Side airbags are not an issue with the installation of a seat. Depending on the vehicle some seat may or may notindtall properly. Some car manuals will say yes but certain seats wont fit no matter what you do.
Some middles can accept forward but not rear facing in the middle.
That said if you provide the car make model and year a recommendation can be made.
