Car Seat Peeps - Question About Car Seat Boosters
My DD is 3y3m, 35 lbs, and over 3 ft. tall She's getting a little big for the Britax Roundabout that we have for her. (weight limit is 40lbs) I feel like to get another actual carseat seems a little pointless at her age so I was looking at booster seats but ones that still have a 5pt harness. (see pic) Does anyone have any experience with these? I imagine they are as safe as the carseat, especially with the harness. Just want to make sure it's safe for her and she isn't too young to use them. It's seems like it's okay but I want to make sure. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!! Image Attachment(s):

Re: Car Seat Peeps - Question About Car Seat Boosters
They're still car seats, they're called combination seats. Someties you'll hear them called harnessed boosters. All the same, still safe.
That's fine, just keep her in the internal harness until she maxes out the height (shoulders above the straps or tips of ears even with shell or over weight limit).
Other choices are the Graco Nautilus and Recaro ProSport. Evenflo has 2 new seats based off the Maestro platform that look like they'll be nice, but I haven't had a chance to play with one yet (e300/400)

Re: Car Seat Peeps - Question About Car Seat Boosters
We don't have that one but we do have the nautilus which is the same concept. It has the 5 point harness but can also be used as a back booster and backless booster. I love it! I am so glad we got it.DS will be 3 in Feb and we have had it since he was 2.5 he is 33lbs. I think its a great investment since you will get so much use out of it. I think the weight goes up to 65 lbs. We are going to get ds2 the same one when he is ready to face forward.
Edited to say that it can be used with the 5 point harness till 65 lbs but as a booster up to 100lbs

Great!! Thanks for the info!! I'm glad to hear you're happy with it, it seems like such a better option for our DD. She looks ridiculous in her Roundabout these days! LOL

Yea we had the marathon and I thought the same thing. I wanted to get the frontier but its so expensive and the Graco is the same exact thing. It save us so much money and time too! He will have this carseat for along time.

I love the Britax but geez..........that is some serious price. I don't think I can justify it. I just looked on Consumer Reports and the Nautilus is their top pick and it's rating highly on amazon too. I think that might be my choice.

Re: Car Seat Peeps - Question About Car Seat Boosters
The Argos is out too. that is a nautilus with a no rethread harness height adjuster and goes to 70lbs. Other than that, same seat. But it comes in the Eliza pattern which I love

Re: Car Seat Peeps - Question About Car Seat Boosters
I'm a very big fan of the Nautilus. My DD went from her Roundabout into the Nautilus, and I love that it's the last car seat she'll ever need! I've actually bought 4 (my car, DH's car, my parents' car, and babysitter's car).
