car seat mirror

does anyone else have issues with the back seat mirror staying attached to the back of your seat in a small SUV?

We have a Rav 4 and we attach the mirror to the middle of the back seat - there's no headrest there to attach it to, but it has a little stand thing on the back of the mirror that supposedly velcroes to the back of the seat.
Well, it doesn't stay attached - the mirror always falls forward or backwards.

How do you get it to attach to the seat when there's nothing behind it for it to stick to?
In my regular car, the mirror attaches just fine because its got the back window area to rest on, but we can't get it to stay up in the Rav

we have something like this:

ooooh good call!

it doesn't fit properly in my car and my dh is super paranoid about using them. i can hook it on but it's way too high so it serves no purpose!
I tend to think we're not the only ones having probs with them... I have a jetta. We did try putting one in DH's small SUV (rogue) and it doesn't fit at all - the headrests are attached to the seat back and the thingy isn't long enough for it to be done the other way.

i have no idea if i actually answered your question at all, i'm sorry.Chat Icon

it will attach to the headrest on the back of the back seat, but since the car seat is supposed to be in the middle of the seat (right?), it defeats the purpose.
Ugh..
we're going to have to see if we can rig it up some way - i hate driving without it!

Since it's a projectile hazard in case of a crash, I don't use it that way. I have it secured to the headrest of the rear seat behind the passenger and have it angled towards the middle so I can see DS.

This is how we have our mirrors attached too.

It is a projectile no matter how you use it.. If it is attached correctly, then it should be fine.. Zip ties are a great idea.. We used one for months and it didn't move an inch the whole time it was attached...
