Car Seat Installation
Did you have your car seat checked by Police (or other authority) when you installed it?
If so, where did you go and what did you do? Do you have to call and make an appointment with an officer or something?
If not, do you feel that you did it right and weren't worried about it?

DH and I were just talking about this. We are buying the carseat tonight and was wondering if we could take it to the local police station to have them install it

I brought it to the police department and they inspected my DH's installation - they said he did good job, but not good enough. They took it out and reinstalled it for me. (I'm in Westchester)

I'm in Westchester and one of the Nurses at the Hospital I work at does free installations at the Police Department. It is really startling to see how wrong a car seat can be installed. She also told me that babies should not wear a coat in their car seat.
