Car question for those who've had accidents
The car is 98% going to be declared totaled. We are just waiting now for the insurance co. from the other guy to process it all. When do we tell our insurance to take the car off of insurance?
Also, the car no longer needs to be registered, right? How do we go about un-registering it? It's registered until 9/08.

I dontknow about taking it off the insurance. My guess would be when its declared totalled.
As for the unregistering it you just need to go to the DMV and turn in the plates.

The other parties insurance company will notify you when they total the car, then you will notify your insurance company. When you get the plates off the car, you can take them to DMV and turn them in...this will drop your registration. I believe you should get a refund for the balance of the registration.
