I have a question we have a cape that has not bathroom upstairs. have any of you put in a bathroom? Who did you use and about how much? Thanks

my old house was a cape with no bathroom upstairs.
DH is a contractor and put it in so I'm not much help. He dormored part of the upstairs as well. Then we moved a year later

We had originally bought a levitt cape that was 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom which was downstairs. Our house is now completely dormered but I see many capes in the area with a dog dormer in the back which houses a second bathroom. You will need to get plans drawn up and a permit because you are changing the structure of the home. Also your taxes will go up because you are adding new plumbing to your house. In the end it will be worth it.

Look into Larson or Gidch construction - They both do excellent work

We already had the bathroom upstairs, but I will echo what Scott said. We have the dog dormer just for the upstairs bathroom. Ours is actually off to the side, so it connects through our master bedroom as opposed to being at the top of the stairs.

And we are using Larsen for construction. They haven't started yet, but so far, we are really happy!
