Cape Cod Beaches
Has anyone been to a beach on Cape Cod? If so which one would you recommend? I was looking to take my son to Edaville USA in Carver, MA since he LOVES Thomas the Train but I was looking for something else to do in the area (we've already done Boston) and noticed it is sort of near Cape Cod so was just wondering about the different beaches there. TIA.

Re: Cape Cod Beaches
We've had a house on the Cape since before I was born. My house is pretty far onto the Cape ("Outer Cape" area) so those are the beaches I'm most familiar with. On the ocean side, I like Nauset Light (that's the lighthouse on Cape Cod potato chips) in Eastham, Coastguard, also in Eastham, and Marconi in Welfleet (Marconi has a lot of stairs to get down to beach and back up to parking lot). The bay side is also nice--we go to Campground, Cooks Brook, and First Encounter. There's also Great Pond and Wiley Park which are very small freshwater beaches but good for young kids. Wiley Park also has a playground.

Re: Cape Cod Beaches
My brother lives on the cape. He is in Sandwich, the first town over the bridge and it's very cute. We bring our kids to Edaville each year and stay on the cape before/after. It isn't too far from Edaville and traffic on the cape can be a nightmare. We stay at a Motor Lodge with an indoor and outdoor pool and go to the local beaches. He is on the bay side, which is great for my kids.

We rented a house in August in Falmouth. How far away is that from Edaville?

I think about 40 minutes, but there will be at least some traffic...its the Cape in the summer!
