Cape Cod
We're looking for a little trip to have in August. I want to get away and DH hates the heat, so I was trying to come up with something nice for a relaxing getaway but not going south. Last year, we did a road trip to Mystic, Lake George, Quebec, and Montreal and loved it all!
This year we're not planning a whole week, maybe just 5 days (Fri-Tues). I'm thinking of Cape Cod. We went to Cape Cod for 4 days for our honeymoon 21 months ago but we didn't branch out much, stuck to Hyannis mainly (oh, and we don't drink, so vineyards aren't anything we'd go to). Anyway, I'm thinking of taking the ferry across the sound, then going from there.
I'm thinking of doing a stop in Providence, RI or maybe even Plymouth, MA, then moving onto Cape Cod, and stop and go all of the way to Provincetown.
I've only been to Hyannis (and done whale watching, it was amazing, but we don't need to do it again), and plan on going back as we drive through, but only spending one or two days there and moving on. For those with experience in these locations, please give me ideas on how long to stay along that road trip plan in different towns and different things to do there. Like I said, we'd like to be there Fri-Tues (we can leave Thurs evening and get home Tues evening).
Thanks for the help!!

Re: Cape Cod
Oh, and it's only DH and I. We enjoy sight seeing, eating, mini golf, shopping (well, not really DH ), etc. And we don't drink, so bars aren't really our scene

Re: Cape Cod
We have a house on Cape Cod in N. Eastham which is in between Orleans and Wellfleet. It's about 25 miles from Provincetown which has cute shops & some good restaurants (The Lobster Pot is a fave). There are plently of good restaurants in the area of Eastham/Wellfleet too. There's the bay side & the ocean side beaches that are very close by. There's several mini golf courses also. There's also the drive-in movie theater in Wellfleet. They always play double features in the summer (new releases) and it's only $8.50 for an adult ticket, which covers both movies.
Chatam is a cute town also. Quaint little village with shops & a few restaurants.

My sister (Nancy6485) lives in Bourne/Monument Beach and works in Hyannis. Send her an FM and maybe she can give you some advice!
