My friend swears by them but are they safe to use?

I would wait till the baby is a little older. You should only be using Tide free and clear or dreft. The baby has such sensitive skin. I have never had an issue with colors running with baby clothes.

Thanks for sharing, it's things like this that make me want to stay away from any big name brand and things that are tested on animals. I know I have said this before but a little advice... If a product is "cruelty free", meaning they do not test on animals, you can usually be sure it's safe. Those companies are not to allowed to use any chemicals that could be unsafe because then the govt would force them to do animal testing. I will be using Methods free and clear detergent and I know seventh generation makes one too.
