can you use itunes gift cards to buy apps
for the ipad?..my niece is getting an ipad and i would like to get her gift cards so that she can download apps to her ipad!

Not sure about the iPad but I'm sure you can. You can use gift cards to buy apps at the iTunes store.

Yes -- all iTunes cards can be used to purchase anything in the iTunes store -- including apps for either the iTouch or iPad
