Can you turn a pre-paid cell into a regular cell?

I lost my cell phone and I cannot spend 200 on a new one. Any suggestions? Verizon btw if it matters...

I was told that you can use a pre-paid on a plan, but the pre-paid must have been used for six months on pre-paid before you can switch to a plan (I believe it was six months - could have been three). So if you've had a pre-paid for a while, you can switch. You can't buy a new one and use it on a plan right away.

Yes, if it is a Verizon one and unlocked. I bought a $25 one at Target when mine broke right before I was due a new nice one.
