Can you take additional Vit C
I have a cold, and was wondering if we can take vitamin C in addition to the pre-natals?

Good question... I was wondering the same thing. I have a cold and take my Pre Nats, of course, but also drinking a lot of OJ right now. Not sure about taking more C. Maybe someone else can answer.

I was wondering the same thing, I have a dr appt later on so Im going to ask. Im pretty sick over here.. and am not used to having to deal with it lol. I usually take Dayquil or something.. not anymore!

Your body won't absorb 'too much' additional Vitamin C - You just pee it out .......

Why? I was never told no and I have been taking it all along. I hope it doesn't cause any serious damage!

Why? I was never told no and I have been taking it all along. I hope it doesn't cause any serious damage!
Every OB is diff.... Ask yours. He told me ABSOLUTELY not b/c the prenatal has more than enough. He said that adding Vit C (additional) to your diet would be adding TOO much.
I am a firm believer in upping Vitamin C when I have a cold. I hated being under the weather while preggo.

When I was pg I read that taking too much vitamin C while you're pregnant can cause your baby to develop scurvy when they're born...
I believe it's because their system gets accustomed to a higher level of vit c and then once they're born they aren't getting as much.
But ask your ped!
