Can you recycle burnt out lightbulbs?

Well, at least in the Town of Oyster Bay you can't, but I am assuming its the same for all recycling. For glass, only food and beverage bottles and jars. The following are ok: juice bottles, beverage bottles, food bottles and jars and liquor and wine bottles. The following are NOT ok: ceramic glass, items made of clay, drinking glasses, light bulbs, home or auto window glass, mirrors and serving dishes.
