Can you recommend a train set for around the tree?
I would like my parents to buy our DS a train set for his first Christmas that we can put around the tree every year as a tradition for our family.
Can you recommend one that is good, but doesn't cost a ton? I don't want a "kiddie" one.
I'm not looking for anything that would increase in monetary value over the years... just in sentimental value.
Thanks!!

we got ours two years ago.. we got the Lionel Polar Express O series train.. I love it. Its so nice and a perfect size for our small room. It is a little costly though because its the one that is not battery powered.. and If I remember correctly my DH found it at a hobby store. If you look at the battery powered ones they are cheaper. DS is now 19 months old and is obsessed with choo choos lately so I can't wait for him to see it. I am hoping he doesn't ruin it though.

Re: Can you recommend a train set for around the tree?
We just got one the other day (the girls are asking for one from santa so we aren't putting it out until Christmas - so it is a santa gift). It was $59 but on sale yesterday at TRU for $35 (TRU was happy to do a price change for us with just the receipt). We got Battery Operated North Pole Christmas Train Set- it has 25 feet of track. They had a really nice Geotrack Christmas one but it was $100 (now I think $125). They had about 4 sets out at TRU on Tuesday when I went. I think there was a plain set, a charlie brown and I think a rudolph. I think they also have a frosty one online and I can't remember what else.

Ditto
my son is obsessed with trains and this movie..so it was a no brainer for us! This will be our 2nd Christmas with it! We only keep it up as long as our tree is up!
