Can you recommend a restaurant in NYC?
I'm taking my DH to see Jim Gaffigan at MSG on 12/12. We havent been out without the DC in the city in forever....I have no idea what is a good restaurant anymore.
Do you have any recommendations? Italian or sushi are our favorites. We are willing to take a subway a stop or two for a good place.
TIA!

Are you okay leaving the MSG area for dinner-a subway ride away? Not too many good restaurants in that area!

Yes, I meant to say that we will have our car so we aren't committed to that area.

Parking once is bad enough, I wouldn't want to have to park twice! There are so many good restaurants walking distance of MSG. What kind of food are you looking for?

Or park by MSG and take a subway to the restaurant and back. That's a better option i think

Can you recommend a restaurant in NYC?
BondSt for sushi
or
L'Artusi for Italina
Quality Italian is good too.
Nobu or Sushi Samba are always good too. But I feel like BondSt is the new place to be. If you want something less expensive Yama sushi is pretty good. Less of a scene, just good quality sushi.

Looks like she wants Italian or Sushi. I try to avoid the MSG area as much as possible for food--- I was going to suggest Momoya or Naka Naka in Chelsea for sushi as it's a quick subway ride away (and they are both amazing) but Ai Fiori (Italian) is not too far from MSG and is AMAZING. Pricey, but amazing.

I would stay away from Momoya, unless you plan on getting there before 6:30. That place turns into a zoo after, for completely unknown reasons. I mean, the sushi is good, but not good enough to justify a 1.5-2 hours wait for a table.

If you want to tay local, check out the Niles Restaurant. It's connected to the Affinia Hotel across from MSG.

Meh, I've been to Niles and wouldn't go back.
There's a lot of good Italian in Chelsea or even Meatpacking, which is a short walk from MSG. Take a look at Il Bastardo, Restivo, Scarpetta and Del Posto.
If you're open to Korean BBQ, Dom Bogams is delish.
Pio Pio is Peruvian and amazing.

Crispo. It's on 23rd street..between 6&7th or 7&8th. So good and reasonable.
