can you get a chipped tooth from a cleaning?

I am sure it wasn't the cleaning but I did not notice it until I looked in the car at my teeth., The chip was SO small, but it bothered me and I went back in and it was bonded. But is that even possible to happened during a cleaning? I look at my teeth close after each cleaning and I know last time It wasn't there. I know its a mute point but driving me crazy!! I have been going there for about 15 years.

Probably not from the cleaning unless they banged it with a tool. I think they mostly do between teeth and around gumlines.
They always tell me how I have nothing there. But still they are so rough. I have one place where the metal tool doesn't fit well and they will jam it in and pull it up. It can't be good for that tooth.
I wonder if they did xrays before, would you be able to tell if it's there...not sure if you can see that detail on an xray or not. You can get copies of xrays if you want.

I do think the cleaning makes your teeth super sensitive so if there were any weaknesses it could have aggravated that.

I would say that it's possible, but not something that happens regularly.

I know a friend that this happened to but the dental hygienist realized she did it and they fixed it for them at no cost. It is definitely possible.
