Can we talk post partum period?

Hi girls, I was wondering if anyone has had a similar situation. With DS #1 I didn't get my period for almost 5 months. I BF and supplented him in the 1st 8 weeks, then only BF until I had to go back to work again when he was 6 months.
With Gabriel I got my period only after 2 1/2 months and he is EBF. HOWEVER......I only got it once (right after xmas) and I have not gotten it again. Is this common? Should I be worried???? DH and I have used protection for the exception of 1 time but he was careful if you kwim.
Is it common to have sporatic periods when u BF? Part of me thinks I have nothing to worry about since #1 we've been careful and #2 I'm supposed to be nearly infertile! (DS #1 was IVF)but DS #2 was a surprise! soooooooo, please share your experiences and opinions....I think I may be afraid to test and find out somethign nearly impossible happened, DS#2 is not even 4 months yet!

I would first of all take a pregnancy test, just to make sure. I have a very good friend who went through 4 rounds of IVF to get pregnant with her first baby, and has 2 more that she conceived naturally, so its not impossible.

And if its negative, make an appt. with your gyn.

I got my period once about 5 months pp, I did not get it again until this week and I am now 13 months pp, and still BF. Take a pregnancy test, but I wouldn't be too concerned. BF can mess up your ovulation because of the prolactin levels.

I had a similar experience. I got it around 8 months PP, it wasn't very heavy though. Then I didn't get it again until 11 months. I BF also, and still am. I agree though- take a test just to put your mind at ease!
