Can we talk gliders??

$500 and up -- seems excessive. Does it really make a difference if you get Dutalier? Are the Target and Walmart ones crappy? I am trying to decide what to buy - actually my mom is getting it for me and I don't want her to spend $$$$ unnecessarily. Any feedback on what you got/didn't get? They all feel comfy to me!!

Re: Can we talk gliders??

I think it depends on how long you want to have it for etc.

I didn't mind seeing my mom buy mine on clearance, because I know I will use it at night mostly and not be using it as I would say a couch and its gonna last a little longer, BUT if it breaks after a year and a half , the money spent is not that big a deal ya know?

IF like you are BF and plan to use it all day long, I would say the extra money might be worth it.

BUT , I think you can get a decent one for under $400....

I couldn't see justifying that, but based on what my need was ya know

I would sit in it and make sure you are comfortable. My DH bought me one of the cheaper ones from Babies R US and they it is not wide enough for me to sit comfortably. The arm rest is not completely padded so sometimes I would bang my son's head on the armrest and it was hard to BF.

i spent a lot of money on my furniture and pottery barn kids charges over 1,000 for a glider and ottoman, so i wanted to see what my other options were...i ended up ordering a glider and ottoman from target.com and it is perfectly fine...it is really adorable. i can't say that it is as comfortable as the more expensive ones, but it is certainly not uncomfortable!

Re: Can we talk gliders??

To be honest I did not drop dead over the Dutailier. I checked it out at my friends house & I did not see the difference from the one I tried out in BRU.Chat Icon

Did they carry this glider in any of the stores so that you could sit in it beforehand?

My sister bought my glider for my shower. She got it on clearance at BRU - I think it was originally $300 but she t it for about 1/2 price. It's not Dutalier, but it is very comfortable.
