Can we talk diaper explosions (newborn)
DS is only 1 week old and he keeps having diaper explosions (both pee and poo)!
He was wearing newborn size diapers and he was leaking pee. I put him in size 1s and he is still having the same problem. Today he peed through his diaper and then later on had a poopy explosion.
Any advice on why this is happening? Thanks!

Maybe try another brand?
Lily only had one or two explosions, so I'm no expert...but I know different brands work differently for different kids!

That's what I was thinking. We were using huggies but I just put on a pair of pampers. We also have size 1 Luvs.
But I should definitely be in the size 1s then right?

For some reason this happened all the time when DS was a newborn, no matter what size or brand. I love Luvs now that he's older, but at that age used Pampers Swaddlers. I don't know if he necessarily needs size 1 already, but are you sure you're doing them tight enough? At first I was afraid of cutting into DS's stomach, so I was doing them too loose and they leaked every time.

They are tight around his waste but not so sure about his legs. Perhaps we will go back to the newborns again then. I don't know. The doctor told us that the problem could by the A&D making it less absorbent but we aren't putting that on anymore.

i had same problem. i use pampers swaddlers new baby size 1 and put it tight and be sure to point his pee pee down beforee closing diaper so it doesnt go up out of diaper when he pees....

I had the same problem with DD when we used luvs or huggies once we switched her to pampers we never had a problem again, we also went to size 1

We always have poop explosions no matter what diaper she's in. She was 9.10 at birth and she did wear newborn diapers for awhile - about 3 weeks. She's 11.10 now and can still wear a size 1, but I started buying 2's that are ok on her as well.
