Can we talk about Kitchen cabinets?

Anyone did solid cherry cabinet doors?

Can you mix veneers on the rest and do solid cherry doors?

I have no idea how much it would be!

Is it SIGNIFICANT in term of pricing for veneer vs solid?

If you went all solid wood. were the cabinets a mix of wood? With the most expensive only what his visible to the eye?

Also those glazed cabinets? Like ginger glaze etc.. Is the finish durable?

We did solid maple doors and maple plywood boxes (seven layer plywood I believe). No MDF. Most places will only do solid wood doors and wood veneer for the rest (either on plywood or MDF). The higher price would be the plywood - MDF is cheaper. We have a glaze and it's holding up fine (had it about two years now).

My dad's company, a vendor on here- also did MommaG's cabinets- does cherry cabinets.

As posted the doors/drawers would be solid cherry and the boxes would be a cherry/plywood, 3/4" thick

the price for cherry is approx $297/foot (uppers & lowers measured separately). Keep in mind cherry the wood is different from cherry the color- a lot of people mix up these two terms. Cherry wood is more money than maple- they look similar except cherry has sap stains (like little pits) in the wood whereas maple does not. We use sap white hard maple- and the cost say for a maple cabinet stained a cherry color is less, about $260/ft

This price includes the same finish/color inside & out - so when you open cabinets, for example, the color that is on your door is also inside the cabinets.

I can't speak for other vendors but I know our stain/glaze is very durable (of course nothing withstands water damage) but normal wear & tear finish does hold up very well.
