can we talk about bowed legs in new walkers???
when do you/should you worry??? dd is fairly new to walking but seems to be bowlegged (is that even the word? ) I kind of remember Sammie doing it, but its fuzzy....just want to make sure I'm on the right page....she has been all on walking only (well, in between falls!) for about a little over a week...she stopped crawling completely if that helps anyoen answering...) My dh swears she will be ok, but, well, if you know me, you know I worry....:)
(she goes to the dr for a 15 mo visit next month anyway but just wondering...)

Re: can we talk about bowed legs in new walkers???
i was concerned with the way my daughter walks....she toes in and is slightly bowlegged. i brought it up to the ped and they said that most children grow out of all of that by the time they're 3/4 and that they don't take corrective measures this early---when i was a baby i wore a bar when i went to sleep to straighten out my feet. they found that that does nothing so they don't do anything anymore. i suppose if it's still an issue at 3/4 they'll suggest doing something then.

Re: can we talk about bowed legs in new walkers???
DS has been walking since 10 months. I started to worry about his legs and foot at 13 months. I brought it up to the Dr and he made him walk and said his legs weren't bad and that he had a slight turn toe with one of his feet. I was given stretches to do with him at home but I became increasingly worried that if we waited for progress he would be in kindergarten with braces on his legs. I brought it up again at his 15 month the Dr gave me a script for an ortho but the ortho wont doesn't see any patients with bowed legs or turn toe till they are 5 . So now we wait.

Funny, I had the bar too. I didn't have it that long. I only know b/c my parents have the baby shoes with the bar. My dad said when I walked with it I looked like those little green, toy soldiers, which obviously isn't true b/c I wore them as an infant way b4 I started walking. My dad is just a joker and will still show me how I walked and would laugh. Thanks dad!

I think it's kind of normal. I saw a baby with the bar thing recently and it kind of took me aback since I haven't seen them in so long.
