My cousin is graduating and we so wanted to be thereChat Icon

The baby will be a little over 2 weeks old. The car ride is about 2 hrs.

Do you think we can make it?

I would think so, if you feel comfortable bringing a two week old to a public place like a graduation... I think that would worry me more. THe car ride should be fine, my son always slept great when we traveled.

Thanks. I would only go to the BBQ after and it is just family at my Aunt's house.

I think a new baby would do fine on the car for 2 hours. But be prepared that if you deliver late or have a c/s you might not be up for a 2 hour car ride.

I would think that since you are having a c/s you would have to make a last minute decision that day based on how you feel. You might feel ok for the ride, but I know for the first 3 weeks after my c/s I really didn't go out at all and was happy to just shower and stay home wearing very comfy clothes.

I agree about making a last minute decision. As far as the baby, he/she will probably sleep the whole ride.

I agree. With my first c-section, I healed great, was out and about after 3weeks, maybe less, took very little or no pain meds. But with my 2nd, I was in terrible pain still even 10 days later, counting the minute that I could pop another pill. and sitting in a car (or any position without moving) would have been hard and painful for that long...

I think the deciding factor in this case will be you more than the baby, with the healing situation of the C.
