Can we discuss postpartum physical recovery?

I am going to discuss vaginas and perineums and tears so if that isn't your thing, you've been warned.

I am just over 3 weeks PP. I tore during delivery, but nobody told me how badly (I think they said 'oh it's not SO bad'). The pain has basically gone away except for occasional tenderness, but now I'm ITCHY. It's not a yeast infection, and I don't think it's any kind of infection because I don't have any other symptoms other than the itchiness, and occasional stinging/pulling feeling. Is this normal? Anyone else experience this? And finally - WHEN WILL IT END?

I think if you got stitches its normal to feel itchy. I am 4 weeks pp and I get random stabbing pains down there, they are bad enough to stop me in my tracks.

I had the itchy/tugging type feeling with my stitches which I think is normal during healing. I still had some pain though at my 6week pp checkup and lo and behold... I still had a stitch that didn't dissolve which had to be removed. Once that came out, I felt 100% better.

OMG ouch! Did it hurt when they removed it?? The thought of anyone doing anything down there right now makes me want to throw up...

At the hospital they gave me the little squeeze bottle to put warm water inand Ashley of rinse myself off down there, that bottles was my best friends for the first month. They also gave me a cold spray that really helped. Do you gave anything like that?

It actually came out rather easily. Wasn't as bad as it sounds!

Can we discuss postpartum physical recovery?

My tear/stitches didn't fully heal, so at my 6 wk pp checkup, my dr cauterized it. Immediately after it began to finally heal, but I felt zaps of pain in that area for 3-4 mos after.

I tore also and while I don't remember ever being itchy I was in so much pain for quite a while that walking was painful. The doctor said it was the way my pubic bone had stretched. They even offered me a walker at the hospital.
