Can we discuss Coca-Cola?

I can't shake this m/s (morning/afternoon/night)....however I just opened a can of coke b/c I just couldn't take it anymore......is this O K?

I clearly didn't finish the can, I didn't even come CLOSE to even drinking half of it for that matter.

Anyone find coke soothing and did you drink it to help m/s? If I buy caffeine free with that still work as good?

(I'm sorry for my m/s questions)

Re: Can we discuss Coca-Cola?

My dr. said that I can have 1 caffeinated beverage a day.

If the can of Coke works for you- do it!

Re: Can we discuss Coca-Cola?

It should work to settle your stomach. Years ago they used to sell coke syrup to combat belly aches.

I think if it makes you feel better than have it. You can have a caffeinated drink daily (from what I have been told and heard from many others).s

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I feel you.

Try room temp ginger ale - that worked better than coke for me.

And citrus fruits - both the smell AND the taste. During the REALLY rough days, I kept a lemon on my desk and would inhale the scent whenever i was nauseous.

In all honesty, the ONLY thing that stopped the constant vomiting was a prescription for Zofran. 3 pills a day. WORKED WONDERS.

I still take 1 pill a day at 19wks (in the morning) and I only vomit 1-3x daily instead of the 10-12x PLUS that it was.

I tried the lemons Chat Icon

I haven't tried ginger ale yet but I bought ginger candies...those worked before but tonight they did not.

I'm hoping to not have to take a prescription but right now I'd love for ANYTHING to work. I can't even eat dinner tonight.....I just finally ate irish soda bread. The worst is I'm not getting sick...I wish I were to feel better. (even if it's just a bit)

I'm going to try ginger ale, I just don't have any in the house. (actually I have green tea ginger ale that I bought awhile ago but never drank but the thought of drinking that right now, is making me sick)

Well, I had hyperemsis (severe morning sickness) but my doctor said regular coca cola was fine for me to drink.

Honestly, most OBs ok a cup of coffee a day, so what is the difference?

this is what i was going to say. When my mom was young - they used to sell Coke syrup as a stomach settler....

DRINK IT! A good idea may be to flatten it out first - the bubbles may be upsetting your stomach!

Re: Can we discuss Coca-Cola?

My OB said I can have caffiene in moderation - he said 2 cups of coffee a day - But I don't drink coffee........

IMO, if you have bad m/s - WHATEVER will help you is fine - you're ovbiously not getting wasted or shooting herione.....drinking a can of coke, or even a small glass to calm your nausea is fine.
