Can the receptionist tell me baby's gender?
We're team green  .... but I was just wondering...if I went into the office and asked the receptionist if she could tell me my baby's gender, would she have access to that? Would she have the authority to tell me or is it something only my OB can tell me?

The receptionists where I work are not allowed to give out the baby's gender or any type of test results to a patient since they don't have medical experience- it's a huge liability. Just leave a message for the Dr to call you back.

at my drs the baby's sex wasnt even in the folder, so the dr didnt even know..

Same here - since I had my level two done at a perinatogist. The Dr told me that if I don't find out then I won't find out since the report doesn't specify.

No she cannot. Its a HIPAA law that the receptionist is not authorized or qualified to.give you results of tests. Only a nurse or dr can...

The ob i used to work for - if the patient didnt want to know the sex, it wasnt even documented in the folder.
