why is it that a house on a double yellow line would have taxes higer than another house in the same town, but with a private beach.

Re: can someone please explain this?
I am just speculating but maybe the one on the double yellow line is commercially zoned?

I am just speculating but maybe the one on the double yellow line is commercially zoned? I am pretty familiar with Sayville but I don’t know about the zoning. Still though, there is no rhyme or reasoning for this. JMO

Re: can someone please explain this?
It could be a lot of factors. The waterfront house is older - it is likely that they never reassessed...or perhaps haven't done any work that would need COs or reassessment. Perhaps the other 2 homes are slightly larger or they had work done that required reassessment.
