I don't live in this area but I found this online for you. Perhaps they can direct you to the proper place for inquiries. Good Luck ! Terryville/PJS

All I can tell you is that I remember my mom taking us to buttercup's dairy store as a child and the place stunk to high heaven like rotten milk to this day I think I'm gonna hurl if I go past there....

Re: Can someone explain Terryville to me?
I know that I am considered Terryville as well but my mailing address is Port Jefferson Station. I do not believe Terryville has its own zip

Re: Can someone explain Terryville to me?
My husband explained the Terryville/PJ thing to me since we moved to the area that is considered both.
Terryville - way back in the day (19th century) used to have its own town hall, PO, etc - go down Terryville Rd and you can see the old Town Hall building near the new mosque.
During the development of LI after wartime, the two areas joined together under 1 zip code/Fire Dept/etc, but Historic Terryville still maintains its features. Some homeowners near Terryville Rd need Town approval to make changes to the exterior of their homes as it is considered a Historic area.
If you ever go into Buttercup, they have mural of Terryville and all the farmlands that used to be in it, including my neighborhood. I've also seen maps and descriptors to this effect in some books about the area when I have searched book stores and the internet.
FYI: I'm a history nut, so I asked a lot of questions when I moved to LI.
