Re: can someone explain newborn shoots?
So this is it how it works... Most photographers charge a set price to do the photo shoot. This includes 2.5-3 hours of shooting time with your newborn. They will take as many pics as needed to capture the great ones...
Then the photographers usually have a 'menu' with the options of what you can purchase. Some photographers require a minumum order amount. You can either purchase a set package, which is something they have on their menu OR you can order a la carte off their menu until you hit the minumum order. You dont HAVE to order prints if you dont want them unless maybe you need to reach the minimum order amount...
Photographers offer you a disk of high resolution photos with a print release. This print release is very important and you must ensure you get it so that you can take the disk and make your own prints wheneva you want.
I have not communicated with a photographer who will give you ALL or ANY unedited photos because they only want you to see the best ones. And they want to ensure their best work is out there.
BUT you want to make sure you get a disk with all the photos they have edited. THATS where you need to be careful. Certain photographers offer different prices for the # of photos on a disk or only offer packages where you get a limited amount. You want to ensure when you speak with a photographer they offer you an option of all ediated photos on a disk with print release.
I hope I didnt confuse you further LOL
