 | Can I share 1 hour out of my Christmas Eve with you all Please keep in mind this is all in a span of one hour!
So there has been some MAJOR family drama going on in my family so I have been busy with that and haven't been around much but I just wanted to share this with you all.

This Christmas Eve was the last Christmas Eve that my husband will be off for Christmas Eve so the last one that we will spend as a family. We wanted it just to be us.

We head out to church. We come back from church (5pm mass) and my DH goes up to give my DD a bath while I finish making dinner. We are at the point with my daughter it's best to bath her and change because you will be soaked. After her bath my husband puts her in her crib so he can go in our room and change because he is drenched. He is in our room changing and hears a LOUD THUD! I hear it downstairs too. It was a different thud then her dropping something. I turn everything off the stove and start running for the stairs. He comes running into her room and she had flipped herself out of the crib. This was the first time that she had ever done this!
Thankfully she was not hurt but very stunned. It took a half hour to get her calm down again. She was in shock from the fall and what she had done. I resume making dinner and we get her down to eat. I made shrimp scampi. My daughter has had shrimp before and has been fine. She starts gobbling down the shrimp like it was going out of style. Then I look at her and her chin is getting blotchy. I start thinking ok she is having and allergic reaction and I give her some benadryl and I start having visions that we will be spending Christmas Eve in the ER. I am watching her closely for her breathing. She continues eating some pasta and starts gagging on it. I am thinking call the ambulance her throat is closing and she walks up to her dad coughing and gaggling and pukes all over him. She was just gagging, luckily ( I can't believe I am saying luckily to that) but she was fine after that and had a jelly sandwich for dinner. No more big elaborate dinners for my kid. Just the basic. Needless to say after that hour we were done. We just wanted to sit on the couch and cuddle her until it was time for bed. |

Boy, it sounds like you guys were having fun. I guess your little one is giving you the oversized CUE that she wants a big girl bed now
I'm glad she was okay though That must have been very scary with the shrimp though Did she at least enjoy opening her presents? |

Let me tell you-- D has certainly inheritated Mommy's temper. She got a little cranky about not being about to open on of Mommy's presents too because it was fragile-- She picked up a lego and threw it at Frankie's head- missed and smash an ornament on the tree. Needless to say I know I will never be a biological aunt now because D is CERTAINLY curing my brother of any thought of having kids!
