can i be judgmental for a minute?
i don't know why but it REALLY bothers me when i see people out in public wearing nightgowns.
i guess maybe they aren't really nightgowns, just housedresses, but it bothers me just the same.
i suppose it's not a huge step up (down?) from teenagers wearing pajama pants in public 
i won't even leave the house without a bra on.

well i usually only see them on old ladies (which can be cute sometimes i guess) but the past few days i've been seeing them on middle-aged women. and it's not 6 am or 10 pm - this was at 1pm!
i've also seen a lot of people in bathing suit coverups. is that normal too?

Yeah ok that's a bit odd.
And the bathing suit cover up- unless you are stopping at a deli or something on the way to the beach- or stopping somewhere on the way home... big Nay for me!

bathing suit cover up - if there's clearly a bathing suit under it, and the person looks as if they've just been to the beach (red face, hair up), then i think it's ok (because i do this myself ). Stopping into a store quickly on your way home from the beach should be fine, but not going on an all day shopping spree to the mall..
House dresses? ouch.. no usually not ok, even on cute little old ladies.
But then again, i hate when teens wear their pj's out too - makes me want to shake them

That's what I was going to say! This has been a "trend" for a few years and I can't stand it!
This grosses me out to no end.
I teach HS and see it every day. You know if they're wearing pajama pants, they slept in them. It's not like they woke up and put a fresh pair of pj's on!

I hate people out in public in pajamas. Have a little respect for yourself and the people you are with and put some clothes on. I don't care how comfortable they are you look like a slob.
