Re: Can having GD make you go earlier
I had it with my 1st and for me it was a big no...had a scheduled c (DS was breech with cord around the neck) at 39wks and i never even had real contractions before it!

Can having GD make you go earlier
Not that i've heard of. The only thing i've noticed with gd babies are more csections cause they tend to be bigger babies.

Or smaller babies. A friend of mine was induced right before her EDD because her baby wasn't gaining weight (the placenta stopped working, I think) and they had to get him out ASAP. Her son was born at 5-10, but he's a perfect little chunker now!

Re: Can having GD make you go earlier
I went right up to my induction at 39w6d. With GD I was not allowed to go past my due date. On and off contractions before then.

Not that I know of unless they estimate the baby as being too big then they might induce. I actually went past my DD by 1week..and I had a vaginally delivery

Re: Can having GD make you go earlier
i think most dr's now will treat GD patients like any other if your sugars are controlled. if your levels are out of control or if the baby is measuring big, they might induce or schedule a c-section earlier. i know one of the concerns of GD is that the placenta can start to age/deteriorate in the final weeks...which is why GD patients get NST's on a weekly basis in the last month. Re: Can having GD make you go earlier
i was told today by my doc that i will not go past my due date due to insulin. so i am either going on my own.. which i hope for or i will be induced. If induction doesnt work, then it will be a c-section for me.. how ever keeps mybaby safest..
