Can fresh herbs be frozen?
I bought some organic sage and used just a bit of it for a new recipe for DS. Can I freeze what's left for later use or an I out $5. I must remember to plant an herb garden next year.

I sometimes freeze my fresh Basil, and it is fine. . . . I'm not sure about other herbs.

Re: Can fresh herbs be frozen?
You can chop up herbs and place them in ice cube trays with some water and freeze them that way.
or you can put the sage leaves on a flat try that can go in the freezer. Place them so they are not touching - this way they wont freeze together. cover the tray - saran wrap will work. Once they are frozen, take them out and place them in an air tight container and then put them back in the freezer.

I freeze all my fresh herbs... i clean them, put them throught the salad spinner and throw them in ziplock bags. When i need some i just cut it off the block and put the rest back in the freezer! They even chop easier frozen.
Things like rosemary and thyme, i buy a small thing and keep it on the freezer too!

Yes, I have frozen them but usually when you defrost, the consistency is a bit off, so I wouldn't eat them raw. I use frozen basil all the time - just add it to my sauce, but wouldnt' use it in caprese salad, KWIM.
