calling all gardeners
i went to one of my favorite places in the world today & its not really well known but its so awesome & worth a trip. The Peconic River Herb Farm, its basically a nursery that sells everything from herbs to shrubs & trees, annuals, water plants and really beautiful yard art & pots & stuff. Its less than 5 minutes away from the Tanger Outlets in riverhead so its worth making a trip. Its on River Road in Calverton. If you take the LIE to 69 north make the left on River road & go down till you see the RR tracks & the sign for the farm. I swear every year they have more beautiful stuff, the place itself is so beautiful & the people are super knowledgable. My DREAM job would be to own a place like it. The prices are not cheap, but not high, but the quality & variety is amazing, most of their stuff is grown locally too. I went in today to see what new herbs I could add to my garden I left with a wagon full of stuff. I just thought I'd share a well kept secret!

My SIL bought me herbs from there. She raves about that place.

Re: calling all gardeners
Stop enabling me Kelly! I'm NOT supposed to be gardening this year.
I've even gone so far to stop reading my gardening magazines. It's so hard to talk about and see all this stuff and not get the itch to go to the nursery.
I actually need to buy a bag of sphagnum moss for my orchids and I'm afraid of what I might do if I walk into the nursery this weekend.
Give me strength.
I keep hearing about Peconic, and have it on a list of places to check out when we become Suffolk-ites. Congrats on your successful trip!!

My mom took me there a couple of times last year. It's a great place.
