Calling a car dealer back?
So I was initally dealing with a dealer who "was giving me a great price". Other dealers will tell me lower over the phone and this person said it was "just to get me in the door". I told him I called the others and he said, how about I come down $10 a month would that help? I decided to try going to the other dealers. Surprise, surprise off the bat, no haggeling the price was $800 lower (invoice) for the car. Now before the weekend, i was away, the dealer said he would wait to hear from me about the car since I was super interested. Since going to another dealer getting no BS I went with the other dealer. About an hour ago bad dealer called and left a message to see what I decided to do. Now do I not call bad dealer back because he tried to do his best to take more money from me than he should have or should I call him back and rub it in that he lost a sale cause he was a liar?

if i were you i would call him back and 9as nicely as you can) explain why you went with the other dealer. if he gives you a hard time, just hang up. you'd be doing him a favor by letting him know that playing too much hardball with you made you go elsewhere. good for you for getting a better price!!

He'll keep calling you for a while, then move on. I'd call him back now this way he can move on now.

call him back after hours and leave him a message that you've purchased the car at another dealer

Caller ID exists for a reason I only wish I had it during wedding planning.
I personally wouldn't bother calling him back, he'll get the message. I feel like he's wasted enough of your time with his bogus sales pitch, why give him any more of it?

I would call him back. That way it is over. Just like a high school boyfriend if youdon't tell him right away he won't get it and keep calling

Yep, call him back and tell him you got a better price and that's why you went elsewhere.

Re: Calling a car dealer back?
it's a rough business. I would not call him back. He will call you though..a few times if he's like you described.
You don't owe him anything. He spun you around.
