Call me "Paul Bunyon"
We have(had) a white birch tree in our front yard that died a few months ago (not sure exactly when, but it had leaves last summer, and none this year). DS grabbed a branch, and just pulled the entire branch (about 2in in diameter at the trunk) out of the trunk.... not a good sign.. 
I started cutting it, and when I thought I had a good wedge taken out, I decided to see if I could just push it and break it at the notch. Nope.... the tree just toppled over just below the ground....  Talk about strong!  
It was near the house and cars, so I'm glad I tore the tree out with my bare hands before it fell on something!
