Where in Cali do you want to go? It's a quick flight to Vegas. San Francisco is beautiful and definitely worth staying for a few days. Did you want to do more than one city in Cali?

Re: California & Vegas - One Trip
I was thinking maybe San Diego & LA...then drive to Vegas.
Is that even possible?

Re: California & Vegas - One Trip
We did it in 9 days but started in SF. Drove down the PCH to LA (went through San Simeon to Hearst Castle, Carmel, Monterey, Sonoma). Stayed with friends in LA for 2 days then drove to Vegas, spent the night, drove back to LA to fly home.
We actually added Vegas on at the last minute! So worth it.
have a great trip!

Re: California & Vegas - One Trip
we did 3 days in SD, 3 days in AZ (MIL) and 3 days in Vegas and it was a good amount of time.
You could switch the AZ days for LA.
driving is on the long side (5 hours?) but desert driving is much easier.

Re: California & Vegas - One Trip
I did about a 10 day trip. Four days in san diego and then drove to vegas for a few days. Next drove to Utah for a night and then back to Vegas. It's definitely doable. Check out google maps to play with different routes and how long each leg will take.

Re: California & Vegas - One Trip
Yes! DH & I did this last year. It was our last vaca before we got married.
We flew into San Diego & rented a car. We spent some time San Diego and then drove to La Jolla. We walked around there & got dinner at a reeeeally good sushi place. From there, we drove to Laguna Beach and stayed there for 2 nights. Then from Laguna, we drove to LA and stayed there for 2 nights. We did the whole sightseeing thing...Hollywood sign, Walk of Fame, Bevery Hills/Rodeo Drive, ate lunch at the Ivy & dinner at Ketchup (Ashton Kutcher's restaurant...both DELISH),went to Venice Beach too. Then from LA we drove to Vegas and stayed there for a few nights. It was good for renting a car because we could go wherever we wanted around Cali and do things on our own time. The drive to Vegas wasn't bad at all...and we got to experience an In-N-Out burger lol.
DH & I were in LA again for the first night of our HM before we flew to Fiji. That time, we went to Santa Monica Pier & back to Venice beach.
I am now IN LOVE with So Cal. Vegas is great too, been there a million times...but def wanna go back to Cali and spend more time there. I feel like there's so much to do & see.
