Cabin/House rentals for a family vacation
We are thinking of going on a one week vacation to anywhere local with our kids. DS2 will be about 6-8 weeks when we plan on going. Anyone have any ideas where we could rent a house or a cabin for a week. DS1 will be about 22 months so anything we can do with him would be great.
I was thinking of Poconos, Lake George. We wouldn't mind staying near a beach or lake area with easy access to it. Drive can't be more than 3 hours away. TIA.

We are going to Long Beach Island NJ in about a week or so. I have never been but a bunch of the girls on here said great things about it. We are staying in Beach Haven. as per the LIF girls, that area is very family oriented.

Lake George is a 4+ hour ride from LI.. The Pocono's is really nice. Plenty of stuff to do..

Mountain Springs Lake.... 2 hours away, get a hemlock cabin if you can. If not make sure its an updated cabin lakeview (leather furniture, 2 bedrooms & at least 1 queen bed... the full is just too small) The hemlocks are perfect to split w/ another family.

We just came from "Split Rock Resort" at Lake Harmony, PA. Lots to do for kids (pool, arcade with bowling, lake harmony, small indoor waterpark, mini gold and movie theatre. It was nice to just get away from NY for a few days. We used my SIL timeshare but I think you can rent. We had a suite with one bedroom, big bathroom and kitchen.

We go every year, I live in Port Jeff and it takes us about 5 hours

I was going post LBI. My dh's family rents about 5 houses all together and we go every summer. We get it right on the beach and it's nice, clean, and fun!
