C section TMI question

Did you have to shave everything down there at home before going in for c section? or do they do it at hospital?

I just took a C-section class at St. Charles and the nurse said that she does it, but that her job has gotten a lot easier with all the brazilian wax a lot of people now get

I totally didn't even know this was coming before my C-section...it would have been nice if someone had told me!

But the ended up doing it for me at the hospital, once I was in the OR room.

They did it in the OR...my c-section was a surprise

But this time around, if I actually get to plan, I'll do the dirty work .

they did it in the OR, i had an emergency C so i wasn't prepared down there. they only shave where the incision goes.

I don't have hair that high lol but I get fully waxed too, so much easier!

With DS #1 towards the end I couldn't bother to shave it was just too hard. With Ds #1 is was induced and then had a c-section...SO they did it.

This time i told DH he has to help me. shave before going. This time it' s a planned c-section.

I remember my c/s. The nurse is prepping me on the table and tells me, ok, let's shave the area so we can get started. She takes a look, laughs, and then says, "oh, nice job, you're all ready to go!"

I did not have to get shaved...and no I do not waxed.

I didn't know I was going to have a C so I wasn't as "neat" as I wanted to be.

I vaguely remember the nurses asking the doctor if he wanted them to shave me but he said no it was good enough.

I'd say just try to stay on top of it when you get to the end (i know how hard that is )

with DD, I was given a heads up that they fully shave you while they're prepping you for surgery. I took the chance and did it myself. My nurse actually thanked me for saving her time I plan on doing the same this time around.

I had an emergency C, and they didn't shave anything. Your incision is above the hairline. My surgeon sister explained that shaving actually exposes you to more bacteria and increases the risk of infection, so they generally don't do it.

for both I just shaved the top hairline a little lower...didnt need to go naked..I was more comfy doing it myself than having the nurses do it..but only bec I knew going in that I was getting a c-section...

I shaved myself knowing that I was having a scheduled csection.
My incision is below the hair line (so glad he did it this way!!!). Many doctors do it above, so I would just groom the area to be safe.

I shaved everyday up and until the day my water broke. I had an emergency C and the nurse said to the doc "she did my job for done for me!" lol.

with this one i still shave everyday.

they shaved me for #1 but my c was not planned. hadn't really thought about it but I guess if I feel motivated I'll do it myself. More than likely I'll let them do it. they only shave where the incision is going to be.

The doctor shaved about an inch off of the top of my bikini area, does that make sense? The incision is a little lower than the top of your bikini area.
