c-section complications
So I have not been on much since my DD was born. She is a wonderful baby. She is so peaceful and just eats and sleeps. She is such a blessing.
My recovery for this c-section is not going as expected. For some reason my incision wound just would not heal. So my Dr. decided to take all my stitches and steri strips out and have the wound heal from the inside out. She took all this out with any numbing and it was very painful. Now I basically have a big open wound, that I do not want to think about, that needs to be packed with saline filled gauze each day until it heals. So I have a nurse come to the house each day to do this. Basically she removes the outside gauze and tape, then takes out all the gauze from the inside of the wound, cleans it out with saline, and then puts the gauze back in the wound and covers it up with the gauze and tape. She has come for 7 visits and will come at least for another 6 or 7, but my wound may or may not be healed by then, The first time she pulled the gauze form my wound I thought I was going to die. Thank goodness she is a kind and gentle woman. Also thank goodness for pain medication. LOL!!!
Well, it is just so difficult because I can not pick up my one year old at all. I feel so bad. He is used to being with me all the time. I always need someone here with me so they could lift him to change him, put him in his high chair, etc.. There is also a bunch of stuff I cannot not do. My DH has been great, but it has been difficult on us because I like things done a certain way and I am driving him crazy. He had off until Tuesday of this week. Yesterday and today my cousin came and stayed with me. My mother has been sick with some go awful cold so she has not been able to come over. My in-laws have also been helpful, but there a little much to handle at times. I just want this incision to heal because it is really scaring me. Thank goodness my 2 children are so good. My one year old loves people so he is very accepting of people coming over and helping me take care of him. My newborn only cries when she is hungry. She has already slept for 4.5 hours straight. I feel so blessed to have my 2 beautiful children.

Re: c-section complications
I had my to have my incision packed as well. Ask your nurse if she can get her hand on solosite wound gel. This really helped speed up recovery.
Hope you feel better!

Re: c-section complications
Sorry to hear this. I had the exact same issue. I bawled like a baby when the doctor opened the wound. It hurt more than anything!
You will get better soon. Hang in there!

Re: c-section complications
I am so sorry you have to go through this. The same thing happened to me except it opened up by itself one night when I got out of bed. The nurses came for almost 3 weeks, twice a day. I pray it heals quickly for you! And don't hesitate to ask for a different nurse if she is too rough. This happened to me and I suffered almost the whole time with a nurse that should have been more gentle. Hang in there and try not to overdo it.
BTW, your children are adorable!!!!

My nurse is very gentle, thank goodness. My OBGYN on the other hand is a bit rough. At first I thought I might have to have the nurse twice a day, but my OBGYN said once a day is fine. I am trying my best to rest and not over do it. It is just so difficult. Thanks.
