Buying vs Renting
Thought this was a cool calculator (the only thing it doesnt seem to be accounting for is the tax deductibility of mortgage interest) NYT Rent vs Buy

If you adjust the tax rate, it always seems better to rent.

wow that scares me! we pay city rent and I thought it would definitely be "better" to buy but for the numbers I plugged in it told me it would be better to buy after 19 years?! I must be off on my numbers haha

Mine was worse. It said even after 30 years, it would be better to rent. We do not even own an expensive home, but then again our rent was pretty inexpensive.
