buying AC units now...
should i even bother?? I'm moving into an apartment this weekend and I only have 1 window unit. I'll put that in DS's room. But I will eventually need one for my room and the living room. Can I get away with just windows until next summer? I'm trying not to add expense to this move. even tho i hear this is the best time to buy for next summer.

If you see a good sale I would, but i dont think you will need them. Its getting really cool at night. Get a few window fans and i think you will be fine.
ETA: I think you are a great mommy! When we were kids my parents only had 1 AC in thier room. Us kids had to sweat it out. LOL

You might be able to get some free on LIF or on Craigslist from someone that just installed Central Air... My MIL recently gave hers away to DH's friend.

thats what i did when i put CAC in my house! well if anyone's getting rid of some im interested!!

i bought new ACs this year from PC Richards & they actually were having pre-season sales on the units and installations.. so maybe you can get the same deal you would get now sometime in the spring next year before it gets too hot
