BUYING A TV/DVD COMBO - HELP !!
More specifically for my boys' playroom.
and it will most likely be put on a wall mount to save space.
Any good TV recommendations or things to steer clear of ?
HOw about the wall mounts ?
How about as far as storing game stuff cable-box, etc. is it impossible or terrible to even hook up game stuff to a TV that high? (its a pretty low ceiling actually). we can scratch the tv gaming if anything, because they will also have their own computer..
How does this all work with the wall mount ?
PLEASE dont tell me to get a tv stand, I dont wanna hog up all that space, its a small playroom.
COME ON WHERE ARE ALL THE VIDEOGAME HUBBIES ???
I need your help !!!!!
Not sure how big of a tv to get either..

Wall mount -- first find your studs to make sure you can even put the tv in the spot you want. If your studs aren't in the right place, you'll have to do what we did -- put 3/4" plywood behind the wall where you want the tv to go. Then secure your tv to that board. (We just did this, but we were also putting dry wall on that entire wall - if you have to go this route, you'll have to patch the wall when you are done -- or cover up the hole with the tv if it won't bother you...)
We had our electrician out to install an HDMI box and to run all the necessary wires behind the wall -- this way we plug the tv in to an outlet on the wall behind where it is hanging, then the cable box and everything gets plugged into the other outlet he put in -- which is down at regular outlet level and in the corner of the room (away from where the tv is actually)
Another (much less expensive) option is to run the wires straight down the wall, and use one of those strip covers to cover them.
