burping
DS drinks 4 oz bottles. How many times should he be burping? He is very hard to burp. Does anyone have any tricks for burping?

Re: burping
It depends on his age, when DS drank 4 oz I burped him halfway and when he was done (every 2 oz.). Not sure if this is a trick but it works is to rub his back while he's up on my shoulder, rub it from the bottmo up like your massaging the air bubble out.

Re: burping
Mine takes about 6oz. I burp him after 4 and then give him the rest and burp him at the end.
I sit him on my leg and place his tummy against my hand and then with the other I pat and rub his back. In that massage motion way.
If yours is taking 4oz I would burp him after the first 2 and then at the end. Sometimes they will burp on their own if they don't do it when you are patting them. Even though mine burps during his feedings he still will burp an hour or two afterwards on his own. He's a gassy one so he'll pass gas too. If yours lets the gas out the other end then that's fine too.

Re: burping
I was burping him every ounce. He seemed to be spiting up if he doesn't burp often but sometimes its so hard to burp him.

Sometimes mine burps quickly and other times he'll take 10-15 mins to burp. He still spits up even if i've burped him...
drives me nuts. Between all the spitting up and the drooling that he does we must go through 20 bibs a day!

Re: burping
I think when Ali was doing 4 oz - I was trying to burp her at 2 oz. After a while - she would start to scream cause I took the bottle away to burp her - so I would give it back to her and burp her when she was finished.

DS does that now. He'll start whinning if take the bottle away too soon. But I'm always like "too bad you gotta burp"...he stops once I start patting and rubbing him.
