Burping

Does anyone have a LO that is difficult to burp?

I've tried Mylicon drops, over the shoulder, on my knee....sometimes I get nothing after 15 min. Then an hour or two later she will burp on her own (sometimes)

Ped said "some babies are just hard to burp"

She needs to burp so Im looking for suggesstions. Tia!

Burping

My older son was like that as a baby. What worked best for him was to put him in a sitting position sideways on my lap and supper under his chin with one hand and burp with the other. The other thing I woukd sometimes do is put him on my shoulder and run my hand from the small of his back up to his neck while applying deep pressure. I think it helped to move the gas bubbles up.

Re: Burping

In the NICU, we were taught to "hula" dance. Sit her on your knee, support her chin and move her hips like a hula, worked every time.

Re: Burping

My DD is now 2, but when she was a baby she would never burp for me and I would try everything. The dr. told me not to be concerned, some babies are more difficult to burp. I continued to try, but usually got nothing.

Burping

DS was hard to burp and he was gassy! It also had to do with certain in-laws feeding him and not burping him.
Now at almost 7 mos, I have it down; after feeding I sit him on my lap side ways and pat for 10 seconds, then rub his back until he burps. Recently, he's been burping on his own as long as he's sitting up. Chat Icon

Re: Burping

DD was hard to burp... and was a gassy nb. Bicycling her legs helped us out in the early days, and she got good at burping herself too. At 20 months, she can compete with DH lol.
