Bundle Me....Where do get and is it worth it?
We are pretty sure that DS will be in his infant seat for most of the winter, so we are thinking Bundle Me (the idea of trying to put a coat on him in hte car frightens me)...
Where did you get yours? Is Bundle Me the best/warmest or are there different ones??
TIA

Re: Bundle Me....Where do get and is it worth it?
I was told by Carseat Chris (the guy who installs the carseats) to NEVER put anything in the carseat that didn't come with it.
He said that a blanket is all you need.
I returned all 10 of the Bundle Me's that I got at my shower.

I'm sorry but "Carseat Chris" made me
That is interesting b/c my ped told us not to put a jacket on him b/c then the straps aren't flush against him and to get a bundle me.
How annoying.....

Well, Carseat Chris didn't say anything about a jacket....he just said not the Bundle Me -- and just to use a blanket.
I hate when we get different information from everybody.

My baby is 9 months old and I used it this morning on our walk. I just attached it to the stroller. The thing is priceless.

Re: Bundle Me....Where do get and is it worth it?
I would get one! I used one with Julia and had no problems, she didn't need to wear a bulky jacket and the carseat straps were on her right! Plus it keeps them warmer then a blanket would. JMO

We got ours at BRU. We used it all last winter and DD never wore a winter coat.

Re: Bundle Me....Where do get and is it worth it?
I loved my Bundle Me!! I think wearing a bulky jacket is worse because the straps are not snug against them. He said just a blanket? that can be easily kicked off....the Bundle Me is zipped around them so they can't kick it off.

Re: Bundle Me....Where do get and is it worth it?
Maybe carseat chriss isn't fully aware of what a bundle me is. They used to use a lot of buntings, and I could see how that would interfere with the straps, but the bundle me doesn't interfere with the straps at all. It just attaches around the outside of the seat, doesn't go near the base at all, and you zip it around the baby.
IMO it was a LIFESAVER in the winter months. My daughter was born in October and so we used it all through the winter and loved it.

Re: Bundle Me....Where do get and is it worth it?
I had a "carseat chris" tell me that I should not use mine either. He said anything that did not come with the carseat is not recommended since only the carseat was tested to be fire resistant. He said there would be nothing worse then a baby strapped into a blanket that is on fire
I used mine though

Re: Bundle Me....Where do get and is it worth it?
We used it for Jayden when he was born in March and it was great. We already moved him to the convertible seat so we won't get to use it. I'm so disappointed.
I got it at Marshall's for $25.

You don't strap your baby into a bundle me though. I wish all the carseat techs would get on the same page with this kind of stuff.

Oh, I guess I was confused. I thought a bundle me fits around the outside of the carseat. That's what I had for DS, but apparently it was a different product.

Re: Bundle Me....Where do get and is it worth it?
I just found this online
It is unsafe to put a thick coat, snowsuit, or blanket on under the harness of a car seat," Ellis says. "In a crash the coat would compress, making the straps too loose and possibly allowing the child to be ejected from the seat."
For babies in an infant seat, dress them warmly in normal clothes, like a shirt, sweatshirt, long pants and a hat. Buckle the child into the infant seat, then cover the baby with a light blanket tucked around the sides. Make sure nothing is behind baby's back!
Finally, add another heavier blanket over the top of the infant seat. Also for infant seats, there are car seat covers available that fit over the whole infant seat once the baby is buckled in. These covers have a peep-hole so that baby's face remains uncovered. Ellis advises parents to be sure the child is buckled up under the cover, though, as it's easy to forget when the buckle is out of sight.
For older babies and toddlers, take the child's coat off before buckling them into the car seat. Once the harnesses are secure, put the child's coat on backwards over their arms to keep them warm without compromising safety.
I like the backwards coat idea
Oh, and this is what I had when DS was a baby (found one on ebay just now)

Re: Bundle Me....Where do get and is it worth it?
LOL I posted abut his a few weeks ago Kate....
I got one. I am not sure how it works tho. If it is going to interfere with the car seat straps I will only use it with DD in the stroller.
