Bumper Bowling?
How does this work? Do all bowling alleys offer it?
DD is 5 and I'd like to take her bowling for the first time but she seems to young for real bowling still no?
Do they have kid sized balls too?
Any particular bowling place in Suffolk that is kid friendly?

Re: Bumper Bowling?
Every alley I've been to in the past few years has them. They are built into each lane and you just ask an attendant to pull them up for you.
The balls are all the same size to make sure all the ball return mechanisms work, but you should be able to find fairly light balls. Some alleys have ramps for kids who can't roll the ball.

Yes, all of this. DD is 3 and we've gone a few times to Sayville Bowl. She loves pushing the ball down the ramp!

Yes! We've taken our kids to Levittown lanes and all lanes have pull up bumpers and they have ramps for the kids to push the balls down. My kids were 2.5 and almost 4 when we took them and they all carried the bowling. Ally's with no problem.

So when you go to Sayville, you just ask for bumpers and/or ramps at the desk when you go to get the lane? What about shoes? They have kids shoes?

Yup, just let them know at the desk and they do have kid shoes.

Re: Bumper Bowling?
We took dd1 for the first time about a month ago. She's only 2 1/2.
All bowling alleys have it. They just hit a switch and a metal bar comes up along the gutter.
They have very light kids balls. They also have a ramp you roll the ball down.
Couldn't be easier. Dd loved it.
We took her in Suffolk by us.

Bumper Bowling?
We just took DS to a bowling bday party. He's almost 4 and we'd never taken him bowling before. He loooooved it. They had the bumpers and the little ramp to roll the ball. The shoes fit, they had really light balls. This was in Patchogue. I would definitely take him again!

Depending on the bowling alley, they may let your DD even stay in her sneakers.
