Bugaboo?

Apart from being an adorable name, I love the stroller. I just got an email and they look perfect. Do you know anything about them? $$?

I have the Frog and it is the BEST gift I have ever received...the stroller GLIDES through the streets like butter. The only con is that in order to fold it it comes apart in two pieces.

I heard they are good in the city, but if you have to fold it up to put in/take out of a car, it's annoying.

Re: Bugaboo?

they are very popular in brooklyn where i live. i do not have one, but think they are cute. they are expensive, but having a pram, regular stroller, and something to snap the car seat into seems like it replaces three strollers in one.

We just got the cameleon in denim and absolutely LOVE it! It's a limited edition. We ordered it from Bellini, it was out of stock and had to wait 6 weeks for delivery. The price for the one we got is $959.

It's so adorable and very easy to get around in.

I love all Bugaboo's!

As far as price they are pretty expensive but definitely worth it!

Re: Bugaboo?

Bugaboos are great for walking. They have excellent suspension however my GF has one and she said it's a PITA to take in and out of the car. Some people say its easy once you get the hang of it but others think its a pain to take in and out of the car because it doesn't close in one piece....probably its only flaw.

Re: Bugaboo?

I have the chameleon. I absolutely love it. it's light, goes into 4930485 different positions, so you can have your baby facing you or facing out. I also used the bassinet part alot for the first 6 months. It cost just under $1000

Re: Bugaboo?

I was just speaking with another mom about that stroller the other day. It is a nice one - but looks bulky - she said it was great for the city - but it looked like a pain for LI. She needs to take it apart every time to get it in and out of the car - and it looks bulky. I believe they run $800 and up depending on what attachments you want with it. I decided against them when I was looking b.c they didn't look all that comfortable and were a pain to fold up for everyday use.

Re: Bugaboo?

Consumer Reports and Baby Bargains rank other "All Terrain" strollers higher than the Bugaboo.

I live in the city (in Chicago) so I looked at these types of strollers. I narrowed down the best three IMO to be the BOB Revolution, Mountain Buggy, and City Jogger Urban Series.

We decided on the BOB Revolution 12"AW. We also got the adapter so we could attach our Graco Snugride infant seat to it. Chat Icon isn't here yet, but I've tried out the stroller and LOVE it! I have friends who have all the strollers we looked at and two that have the Bugaboo and I have tried them all.

ETA: I just pulled up my Consumer Reports account and looked at the All Terrain ratings. There are 8 strollers on the list and Bugaboo is not on the list. The top 3 are the Mountain Buggy Urban, the Maclaren MX3 and the BOB Revolution.

Re: Bugaboo?

yeah, I was going to mention that too...

While bugaboo was they stylish original, there are now several super cute and very well rated all terrain strollers... most cost less than bugaboo...

we're likely getting the bumbleride indie.... (we're checking it out in person in brooklyn this weekend Chat Icon Chat Icon)

I will say that most of the all terrains are hard to find on LI, and you will find yourself going to brooklyn or manhattan to see them in person... (albee baby has a great selection apparently...)

I have the Frog as well. I like it, but I definately agree that it can be a PITA to take apart, fold & put in the car.
Overall, I think it's a great stroller..too bad it doesn't come as a double!

Re: Bugaboo?

I'm registering for the BOB with the carseat adapter. Don't get me wrong, the Bugaboo drives SO nicely. But my friend who has it says it takes up a lot of room in the car becuase it doesn't fold down so I guess it is bulky. I just couldn't justify spending all that $$ on itChat Icon

We have a BOB and love it. I never used it when DD was an infant though b/c we didn't get the adapter but it's great still.

I have the cameleon and totally agree with this! Also, the stroller is a bit bulky for small places. That said, I would still likely get it again...I love it for my walks!

Also, not sure if other strollers can do this but I love that I can have DS facing me or facing out...and the handlebars adjust up and down.

Re: Bugaboo?

I have a Frog and I loved it, however once my son reached about a year old, I found the seat to be too small for him. When I see toddlers in the bugs their heads are always highter than the canopy. They are wonderful if you live in the city, but not great for going in and out of your car all the time. YOu do get used to the folding and the 2 parts, but it is a pain if you are doing it many times a day.

They are beautiful though. I loved mine and will use it with my next baby with a buggy board.

Re: Bugaboo?

I am thinking about the Bugaboo, but am also considering the Bumbleride. I live in Park Slope, capital of the Bugaboos, and they look great and stylish. My SIL, who has about 5 different strollers told me that if she could go back in time, she would just have gotten the one bugaboo instead of all of the different strollers.

Re: Bugaboo?

I agree with the other posters. Bugaboo is great for the city, but not so great for the suburbs. In the suburbs you aren't walking as much and you take a car most places. It is a pain in the butt to fold and put in the car. I use my snap and go when I go to the mall because it is a pain folding my bug up!
