BTDT UppaBaby Vista Question

For those of you with the UppaBaby Vista did you get a lot of use out of the bassinet or was it a waste?? Did you use it when you would go shopping or mostly leave your LO in their carseat and use the carseat adapter?

I'm trying to decide if I want to get the Bugaboo Bee or the Vista. The reason the Bee over the Cameleon is that I really don't want to have to remove the seat everytime I put the thing in the trunk and if people say they did get a lot of use out of the bassinet I would just get the Vista. I don't live in the city so I will really only being using to for walks around the neighborhood and when we go to stores, etc.

Thoughts??

I used the Bassinet a ton. I lived in a really walkable area at the time and would put DD in there while we walked around and got stuff done. If it involved the car I didn't use it, so if you use the car alot and don't walk much than it may not be as useful. DD was also born in late April so we were outside walking around almost immediately. If you are having a winter baby and won't be out as much early on then it may not be as useful either. DD also slept in it a few times when we went away for the weekend. I love the vista though! It's an awesome stroller. I never tried the Bee only the Chameleon and I realy liked the Vista much better because of the fold and ability to be a double. The basket is also much much better than the Chameleon, but I'm not sure if the basket is the same on the Bee.

we never once used the bassinet. i used the frame as a snap and go with my carseat. By the time my son outgrew that, we went right to the toddler seat.

i looked extensively at the Bee - I dont think you can really compare the two strollers. The Vista is a much more robust, heavy duty stroller. The fact that you can use the frame as a snap and go is HUGE and I think they are priced pretty much the same?

ETA - also the basket room. You cannot find a larger basket than the Vista offers. That is big if you are in an urban environment and will walk/shop a lot!

Ditto. It's still in the sealed box.

Price isn't really an issue, I'm just thinking about functionality and don't want to get more stroller than I need. I live on Long Island so I don't need it for walking to shop or anything like that. It would strictly be for walking around the neighborhood/to the park and being I'm due in February I don't even know how much I'm going to be doing that in the beginning. And when I do go to the store I will be taking it in and out of the trunk and I know the Vista is on the heavier side. I am guessing I would probably also just use the car seat adapter which I could do with the Vista or the Bee. The main difference is the bassinet and was wondering how much use people got out of it. If more people found the bassinet to be a huge plus I would stick with my initial pick and go with the Vista.

BTDT UppaBaby Vista Question

I loved the bassinet!!! I used it when we traveled instead of a packa nd play for those 1st few months and also was a life a savor at home when the baby wouldn't sleep and i could just stroll the baby around and park the stroller next to the bed or couch when i slept. I didn't really use it to go for walks however:) I LOVED the vista.

For walking around the VISTA is awesome. I used the bassinett some but not as much as I thought bc DD didn't like being flat. The basket is also really big and very functional. We used it alot with the car seat adapater.

DD loved the bassinet... Def got our money's worth out of it. Besides DD lying in it, it wasnalso great for diaper changes.

Just wanna say that I love love love our vista! Soooooo easy to open/close & I love the amount of space in the basket. The bugaboo is a pain to open & close & while walking with my friend who has a bugaboo she was asking me to store some of her stuff in my basket bc it wouldn't fit in hers. Vista all the way!!!!!!!

Re: BTDT UppaBaby Vista Question

I think it probably depends a bit on your baby (I realize that isn't that helpful). I have the Chameleon and my son HATED the bassinet. He had bad reflux and didn't like being on his back. I can count on one hand the number of times I used it. My friend used hers for nearly 5 months.

I dont remember if either of the ones you are looking at are single fold (i think the Bee is?), but if you are getting in and out of the car a lot, I would recommend that. We do not (we live in the city), but if we had to, our hard to fold stroller would be a pain in the a**
